The incident occurred around 7 AM on the 26th of last month in an apartment complex in Deungchon-dong, Gangseo-gu. The victim, who was walking her dog, suddenly collapsed due to a sharp impact, with blood reportedly pouring from her forehead and soaking her bag and mobile phone. Police secured two empty 250ml juice bottles at the scene, both of which were glass.

A 21-Floor Drop Equals the Impact of a Baseball Traveling at 100 km/h

There were no suitable high-rise structures other than the apartment buildings around the scene that could potentially have struck the victim. Experts state that even an object weighing about 100 grams, when dropped from the 21st floor, can exert an impact comparable to being hit by a baseball traveling at 90-100 km/h at ground level.

A representative from the apartment management office commented, "I've been working here for over 10 years and have almost been hit by things like rice cookers," adding, "We make announcements every Monday reminding residents not to throw objects."

Police explained that if someone was injured due to an intentionally thrown glass bottle, charges for special injury could lead to imprisonment of one year or more, up to ten years. Despite conducting inquiries with residents of the apartment complex, the police have not found any significant clues and have requested DNA analysis of the empty glass bottles from the National Forensic Service to continue their investigation.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the victim is taking anti-anxiety medication and experiencing anxiety symptoms following the incident.
