The upcoming ‘iPhone 17 Pro’ will be more expensive… Here’s the expected price.

Apple iPhone 17 Pro, Consumer Interest Focused on Price Increase Forecast

The forecast that the price of the Apple iPhone 17 Pro, scheduled for release this fall, will see a price increase has been raised in the industry.

On the 6th (local time), foreign media such as 9to5Mac and MacRumors reported this news, citing predictions from Chinese IT tipster Instant Digital.

According to reports, Apple is expected to increase the price by about $50 (approximately 70,000 KRW) while increasing the basic storage capacity of the iPhone 17 Pro.

The Chinese IT tipster has projected that the iPhone 17 series will be unveiled on September 9.

In particular, it has been indicated that the basic storage capacity of the iPhone 17 Pro model is likely to expand from the current 128GB to 256GB.

If these changes are realized, the prices for the iPhone 17 are projected to be $799, the iPhone 17 Air at $949, the iPhone 17 Pro at $1,049, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max at $1,249.

Storage Capacity Increase and Price Increase Correlation

This forecast for a price increase aligns with recent market trends. Last month, an analyst from the investment bank Jefferies predicted that Apple would implement a $50 price increase across the entire iPhone 17 lineup to offset rising component costs and Chinese tariffs.

In this case, the price of the iPhone 17 is expected to be $849, the iPhone 17 Air at $949, the iPhone 17 Pro at $1,049, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max at $1,249.

Apple has already implemented a similar strategy last year.

At that time, the basic storage of the top-end model, the iPhone Pro Max, was increased from 128GB to 256GB, resulting in a price increase from the original $1,099 to $1,199. Considering this precedent, it seems highly likely that Apple will apply the same strategy for this year's iPhone 17 Pro model.

MacRumors analyzed that these changes would also help simplify the iPhone lineup.

Additionally, in May, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that Apple was considering a price increase for the iPhone 17 models.

At that time, WSJ stated that Apple is pursuing a strategy to provide value to consumers by linking new features and design changes with price increases, rather than merely raising prices due to tariffs.
