The shocking details of the Daejeon dating murder case
The shocking testimony of A, a man in his 20s accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend, has been revealed in the Daejeon dating murder case.
According to police on the 5th, A was arrested upon his discharge from the hospital on that day, exactly one week after the incident occurred.
During his first interrogation, he admitted that the crime was premeditated.

A stated that he had been planning the crime for about 3 to 4 months prior to the incident. The problem began when he borrowed a motorcycle in the name of the victim, B, without her permission.
A mentioned that they frequently quarreled from that point on.
In the police investigation, he explained his motivation for the crime by saying, "There were arguments regarding the motorcycle lease agreement, and although I supported her with the lease fees and card payments, I felt disrespected, which led me to the decision to kill her."
A decided on the date of the crime when they were supposed to go together to change the motorcycle's name, and he purchased a weapon and pesticides in advance.
On the 29th of last month, around 12:08 PM, he murdered B with a weapon in front of her residence in Seo-gu, then fled in a shared vehicle.

The day after the crime, he visited several funeral homes in Daejeon looking for B’s memorial.
A is reported to have stated that the reason for this was, "I wanted to confirm if she was really dead."
Tragically, it has been revealed that the victim, B, had already anticipated her death.
According to her family, B had expressed her fears about A to them last November.
At that time, she sent a message to her family stating, "(A) might suddenly come and kill me, so I am scared," and requested them to stay with her.
After breaking up with A to escape him, B even moved, but tragically, she was killed by A near her new home about 8 months later.
On June 27, one month before the incident, it was reported that A assaulted and threatened B, and even assaulted the police officers who responded to the call.

Although the police suggested that B wear a smartwatch and take safety precautions, she refused them and had even submitted a request to not punish A.
The family expressed their anger, stating that if the investigative agency had informed the family about the dangerous situation, the tragedy could have been prevented.
A police official stated, "Since she is not a minor, we had no legal obligation to notify the family regarding the case, but we regret that such an incident occurred and will do our best to investigate."
This incident has once again highlighted the seriousness of dating violence and the shortcomings of victim protection systems.
There appears to be an urgent need for institutional measures such as the improvement of victim protection and family notification systems.
The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for A and intend to clarify the exact circumstances of the crime through further investigation.
