Ahn Cheol-soo, a lawmaker, strongly criticizes the Democratic Party's push for legislation, stating, "After promising a KOSPI of 5000, only the people's money has vanished."
Ahn Cheol-soo, who is running as a candidate for the leadership of the People Power Party, has unleashed a fierce criticism regarding the Democratic Party's announcement to push through controversial legislation.
On the 4th, Ahn raised concerns on his Facebook that the reform bills being promoted by the Democratic Party would negatively impact the economy.

Ahn particularly pointed out, "They lured the public with the sweet words of 'KOSPI 5000', but the harsh reality is that the people's blood-like money has evaporated."
He further criticized, "President Lee Jae-myung calmly went on vacation. A president like an anteater," adding that "individual investors lost all their vacation funds due to the stock market crash."
Warning against the passage of the Broadcasting Law, the Yellow Envelope Law, and other bills as “evil laws” that obstruct economic vitality.
The bills that the Democratic Party has announced it will push through in the National Assembly include the Broadcasting Laws (amendments to the Broadcasting Act, the Broadcasting Culture Promotion Act, and the Korean Educational Broadcasting Corporation Act), the Yellow Envelope Law (amendments to Articles 2 and 3 of the Trade Union Act), and amendments to the Commercial Code—all of which had been discarded during the Yoon Suk-yeol administration due to vetoes. Ahn expressed significant concerns about these proposals.
Regarding the Yellow Envelope Law, Ahn stated, "Even companies are gasping for air," arguing, "The enforcement of the Yellow Envelope Law will tighten companies' breathing space and freeze investment sentiment. It is an evil law that obstructs economic vitality."

Ahn also commented on the Broadcasting Laws, saying, "Isn’t this ultimately trying to make the media like Kim Jong-un's Korean Central Television?" He strongly criticized the Lee Jae-myung government's all-out tax increases and attacks on regulations as harmful to the market economy and liberal democracy of the Republic of Korea.
“Choosing the right party leader is essential to stop the Lee Jae-myung regime's rampage”—emphasizing his suitability as a party leader.
Beyond criticizing the current government, Ahn emphasized the importance of internal party responses. He stated, “The true nature of the Lee Jae-myung regime has just begun to surface,” claiming, "The Lee Jae-myung regime threatens to ultimately disband our People Power Party."
He emphasized, “To stop the rampage of the Lee Jae-myung regime, we must choose the right leader for our party this time,” highlighting his own qualifications for party leadership.
He said, “I am the only one who knows the economy and, above all, is free from martial law and impeachment. I assert that only I, Ahn Cheol-soo, can protect the nation and prevent the Democratic Party's conspiracy to disband our party.”
Ahn's statements come amid rising backlash from the opposition against the Democratic Party's moves to push through legislation, suggesting he aims to strengthen his political standing ahead of the leadership election.
