Burnout Recovery Method: Jo Min's Honest Sharing of Her Daily Life
Jo Min, the daughter of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, recently admitted to experiencing burnout on her YouTube channel and shared her personal methods for overcoming it.
On the 29th of last month, Jo posted a video titled "How Do You Overcome Burnout?" on her YouTube channel, 'Minchobae'.
In the video, she candidly discussed her current struggles with burnout.

"I’ve been pushing myself a bit lately. Suddenly, I've been really busy with work, and I couldn't even take a break on the weekends; I’ve been living like a startup CEO," Jo began, expressing her fatigue due to excessive work.
"I’ve been so tired that I can’t even sleep properly," she explained. "I’ve felt like staying in and just lying down whenever I get a chance."
Jo shared, "When I lie down for too long, I feel like my energy is depleting, so I’m trying to make time for myself. My husband has already gone to work, and although it's a cloudy day, I want to go out for myself."
She continued, "Because I’ve been living so busily these days, I sometimes wonder, 'Is this right? Am I just working without enjoying my life?' There are times I feel burnout, but I also think that I should work hard at my age to gain later."

She added, "I keep reminding myself that it’s right to live hard right now because I want to achieve things quickly and then rest, so I’m adjusting my schedule to work as much as I can, as long as I don’t feel too sick."
Jo expressed, "My friends in their twenties go to the pool every week, hang out at valleys, attend festivals, and go clubbing, and I feel like I’m living like an old person. I get envious when I see those friends."
Finding Her Own Healing Method
Jo decided to set aside time for herself to heal from burnout.

Her healing method was surprisingly simple: dining at a nice restaurant, buying books at an independent bookstore, and relaxing while reading or eating a fruit lunchbox she prepared herself at Hangang Park.
As Jo Min stated, "I tend to look for independent bookstores when I want some me-time or need a break," it seems crucial to find small hobbies and rest methods to overcome burnout.
Meanwhile, burnout syndrome is a common issue many employees and students experience in modern society.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), burnout is defined as a syndrome that arises from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed, characterized by symptoms such as energy depletion, a cynical attitude towards work, and reduced professional efficacy.
Mental health experts advise that to overcome burnout, it’s important to find stress-relief methods that fit one’s needs, including regular breaks, hobbies, exercise, and meditation.
