91% of Solo Diners Prefer Watching Videos During Meals… Popularity of Baemin's 'One Bowl' Service
Interesting survey results regarding the eating habits of 'solo diners' have been announced.
According to research released on the 1st by Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baedal Minjok, it was found that 9 out of 10 solo diners watch videos on online streaming services (OTT) such as YouTube or Netflix while eating.

Woowa Brothers held an event called 'My Solo Dining Skills' to celebrate surpassing 1 million users of its 'One Bowl' specialized category for single servings.
In this survey, which received responses from about 100,000 people, an astonishing 91% replied that they watch videos while eating alone. Other responses included 'listening to music' (5%), 'looking in the mirror' (3.4%), and 'viewing social media' (0.5%).
The percentage of those who replied, "I watch videos while eating alone," reached an impressive 91%.
'One Bowl' Service Targeted at Single-member Households Surpasses 1 Million Users in Just Over 70 Days After Launch
In April of this year, Baedal Minjok established the 'One Bowl' service aimed at the increasing number of single-member households and expanded it nationwide.
This service has eliminated the minimum order amount, which previously required ordering additional items, improving convenience for users by streamlining the ordering process.

As a result, the number of users exceeded 1 million just over 70 days after the service was launched.
Analysis of customers using the 'One Bowl' category indicated that the most frequently ordered menu item was rice (16%).
Following that were chicken (15%) and noodles (14%), indicating popularity. Notably, chicken, which was previously hard to order in single servings due to the nature of its ingredients, achieved a high ranking.
Baedal Minjok explained that this reflects the effectiveness of collaborating with chicken franchises like BBQ to launch single-portion specialized menus.
In fact, as of July, chicken orders saw a significant increase of about 94% compared to the previous month.

Baedal Minjok plans to share various insights on solo dining through a 'Solo Dining Trend Report' that includes these response results within its application until the 10th.
A representative from Baemin stated, "The newly launched One Bowl category has received broad interest," and added, "We will continue to introduce menus that have been difficult for customers to order alone due to menu composition, portion sizes, and minimum order amounts, while also preparing various benefits and events."
