Lee Bo-young, will genre works work again… ‘Mayry Kills People’ starts at 3%

Actress Lee Bo-young has once again challenged the genre with a medical thriller. She sparked enthusiasm with her intense performance.

MBC-TV's new Friday-Saturday drama "May They Kill People" (scripted by Lee Soo-ah, directed by Park Joon-woo) premiered on the 1st. According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode recorded a nationwide viewer rating of 3.2%.

The broadcast depicted the story of emergency medicine doctor Woo So-jung (played by Lee Bo-young) and former plastic surgeon Choi Dae-hyun (played by Kang Ki-young), who assist patients in choosing death.

The opening was shocking. They assisted the death of national hero and soccer player Choi Kang-yoon (played by Lee Sang-yoon). When Choi Kang-yoon miraculously revived, they pressed his face down onto the pillow. They also advised terminal cancer patient Jo Hyun-woo (played by Lee Min-ki) on assisted dying.

Meanwhile, the police tightened their investigation net. The ending showed a situation board labeled "Drug Serial Murder Suspect," featuring the faces of Woo So-jung and Choi Dae-hyun. This hinted at a suspenseful development.

"May They Kill People" is a medical thriller drama. It tells the story of doctors who assist patients in an incurable state and the detectives who pursue them. It airs every Friday and Saturday at 10 PM.
