According to the announcement from the Presidential Office, President Lee plans to stay on Jodo Island in Geoje, Gyeongsangnam-do, starting from the weekend of the 2nd to prepare for his political agenda and to recharge with activities like reading and watching movies.

During his vacation, President Lee intends to continuously monitor key national affairs.

When President Lee was asked about his vacation plans during the inauguration press conference on the 3rd of last month, he responded, "This time, I must take a vacation."

During the press conference, he mentioned his experiences as the mayor of Seongnam, saying, "Strangely, whenever I go on vacation, it rains or some incident occurs, which makes me think, 'Is there such a thing as vacation for an elected public official? Resting with my eyes closed is a vacation, and working with my eyes open is the job,'" explaining that he didn't take official vacations very often.

However, he also noted, "This has led to side effects where my subordinate officials cannot take vacations officially, so I decided to set a vacation but actually worked during that period, and only took breaks when it was really hard," he revealed.
