Actors Shin Min-ah and Kim Young-dae have opened the first page of their romance.
The script reading site for tvN's new drama 'Because I Hate Losing' (written by Kim Hye-young, directed by Kim Jung-sik) was revealed on the 18th. Shin Min-ah, Kim Young-dae, Lee Sang-yi, Han Ji-hyun, Joo Min-kyung, and Lee Yoo-jin all gathered in one place.
'Because I Hate Losing' is about a zero-sum romance of a fake couple. Son Hae-young (played by Shin Min-ah) has a wedding because she doesn't like losing, while Kim Ji-wook (played by Kim Young-dae) becomes a fake groom because he doesn't want to cause trouble.
Shin Min-ah naturally immersed herself in the role of Son Hae-young. Hae-young is an expert in balancing profits and losses who refuses to accept even a minor defeat in life or love. Facing the risk of losing a promotion at work, she concocts a fake wedding.
Shin Min-ah meticulously depicted Hae-young's situation, enhancing the character's charm. She is set to showcase her signature lovable demeanor as the queen of romantic comedies, along with a bold new appeal.
Kim Young-dae transformed into Kim Ji-wook, a nighttime convenience store clerk. Ji-wook is also a citizen police officer and is regarded as the local hero. He receives an absurd proposal from Hae-young, a customer who is his polar opposite.
Accepting the job of being the groom for a single wedding ceremony, he faces a new phase in life. According to on-site sources, Kim Young-dae carefully built his character with affection, delivering an outstanding performance. His chemistry with Shin Min-ah received much applause.
Lee Sang-yi took on the role of 'Bok Kyu-hyun,' the third-generation chaebol CEO. Kyu-hyun doesn't believe in destined love and adheres to a no-marriage principle. Lee Sang-yi solidified the character's narrative with excellent pacing.
Han Ji-hyun transformed into 'Nam Ja-yeon.' Ja-yeon is a famous adult web novelist who only writes about love. Her stable acting injected vitality into the drama. Lee Sang-yi and Han Ji-hyun are expected to create another focal point in the series.
Additionally, Ju Min-kyung as Hae-young's friend 'Cha Hee-sung' and Lee Yoo-jin as Kyu-hyun's secretary 'Yeo Ha-jun' showcased delightful banter. The actors announced a pleasant start with their fantastic chemistry that day.
Meanwhile, 'Because I Hate Losing' is a jointly planned drama by tvN and TVING. It will premiere on tvN at 8:50 PM on the 26th of next month. A spin-off is planned to be released later on TVING's original platform. It will be available simultaneously overseas via Amazon Prime Video.
