They are accused of illegally hunting 14 black goats in the mountainous areas near Saebajina and Oepohang in Gadeokdo, Gangseo-gu, from early April last year to April this year.

These black goats were livestock that two nearby residents raised by building a barn on the mountain and grazing them.

The archery club members were reportedly carrying a recreational bow called a 'compound bow' while conducting the capture operation, and the meat from the hunted black goats is said to have been shared among them.

It was reported that they modified the arrowheads to increase their lethality.

Police investigations confirmed that the recreational bows used by them are not included in the police's management of firearms and bladed tools.

Capture crew using snares also apprehended

Two members of the wildlife capture team responsible for catching animals like wild boars were found to have used snares to capture the black goats.

They attempted to flee after being caught butchering the goats by nearby residents. One fled into the mountains, while the other attempted to escape by climbing the coastal cliffs or swimming.

The police plan to expand their investigation as they believe the 11 individuals apprehended may have additional crimes.
