"Always helping others, this devoted father saved 104 lives before departing"
A man in his 40s was declared brain dead after a work-related accident and selflessly donated his organs and tissues to help others before passing away.
According to the Korea Organ Donation Agency on the 28th, on June 6th, at Gyeongsang National University Hospital, 44-year-old Jang Sang-bin donated his liver, both kidneys, and right eye to four individuals while in a state of brain death.
In addition, Mr. Jang also donated skin, bones, cartilage, and blood vessels, offering hope for functional recovery to over 100 patients.

On the 3rd of the same month, while working for a security firm, Mr. Jang fell from a height of 5 meters during a facility security inspection and was rushed to the hospital, but ultimately did not regain consciousness.
His family wished for Mr. Jang, who had always lived to help others, to do something beautiful in his final moments by saving someone’s life.
Especially, they decided to donate so his young children would remember their father as someone who did good deeds.
Mr. Jang's wife mentioned, "When I donated a kidney in my early 20s to my older sister who was suffering, I thought it was the best gift I could give to a loved one."

Mr. Jang had been working diligently at the security firm for over 15 years and was known to prioritize spending time with his children, enjoying camping trips on his days off.
His wife expressed to the donation agency, "I told the kids that their dad went to heaven after saving someone who was ill, but they still say that Dad will come home after work in the evening. They talk about him dozens of times a day, mentioning the music he loved and his favorite foods."
She also added, "He was such a wonderful husband and father. Don't worry about the kids, just rest comfortably in heaven. Thank you. I love you," as her final farewell.
Lee Sam-yul, Director of the Korea Organ Donation Agency, stated, "We are grateful for the warm-hearted spirit of donor Jang Sang-bin and his family, who chose to save other lives at the end of his own life."
