Ministry of Interior and Safety Reports 72% Participation in First Round of Consumer Recovery Coupons
According to data released by the Ministry of Interior and Safety on the 26th, 7 out of 10 citizens completed their applications for the first round of consumer recovery coupons, which started on the 21st and lasted for five days.

Specifically, out of a total of 50,707,067 eligible recipients, 36,430,000 completed their applications, resulting in a participation rate of 72%. The total amount disbursed was approximately 6.5703 trillion won.
Looking at the application status by region, Incheon had the highest application rate at 77% (2,324,053 people) compared to the total eligible recipients.
In contrast, Jeonnam recorded a relatively low application rate of 66.1% (1,172,451 people). In the metropolitan area, Seoul saw 6,578,408 people completing their applications, achieving a participation rate of 72.1%.
Application Status by Payment Method and Upcoming Schedule
By payment method, the largest number of applicants—26,965,69 individuals—opted for credit or debit cards. Mobile and card-type regional love gift certificates had 5,646,922 applicants, while paper-type certificates accounted for 601,875. Prepaid cards were selected by 3,216,232 individuals.

For those who chose credit or debit cards, or mobile and card-type regional love gift certificates, the disbursement occurs the day after application, while the paper-type regional love gift certificates can be received on the same day at local community centers.
The birth year-specific application system that was in operation until the 25th has concluded, and from the 26th to September 12th, anyone can apply regardless of their birth year.
The second round of consumer coupons will be distributed to 90% of citizens, excluding the top 10% of income earners, with an additional payment of 100,000 won. The application period is from September 22nd to October 31st.
Consumers must use both the first and second round payments by November 30th of this year, and it is important to note that they can only be used within the same metropolitan area.
