According to the transcript obtained by the Democratic Party of Korea's Yoon Geon-young's office on the 25th, the situation when a 30s son was killed by his father's homemade gun is vividly captured.

The first call was made on the day of the incident, at 9:31 PM on the 20th.

The victim’s wife, while hiding in a room with their young children, called 112 and requested help, saying, "My father is holding a gun in the house. My husband is lying in front of the entrance and bleeding a lot."

She repeatedly pleaded, "It seems he is recharging. I think he will kill my husband."

The police officer who received the call focused on verifying the suspect's location throughout the conversation, asking, "Is the entrance door open while the police are coming?"

In response, the caller said, "I will open it. The door is opened," and requested quick entry several times, but the officer only repeated, “We are on our way.”

Delay in police response and additional calls

In a life-threatening situation for her husband, the caller requested quick entry, saying, "I can open the front door," and even suggested specific entry routes, saying, "You can come in through the terrace using a ladder."

"What's going to happen if my husband dies?" and "Please call quickly," were urgent pleas that followed.

However, the police were unable to immediately enter the apartment. Subsequently, a friend of the victim's wife (a foreign tutor) escaped from the crime scene and made additional calls for help through the downstairs residents.

The downstairs resident made a total of four emergency calls to 112 between 9:39 PM and 9:56 PM.

In the second call, the resident expressed anxiety, saying, "Please get the police and fire department in, no one has arrived."

In the third call, they protested strongly, asking, "Why is the police not coming? They should come to the house."

70 minutes after the first call, entry was made, but the victim ultimately died

Both the caller and the downstairs resident repeatedly requested rapid entry and medical assistance from the police, but the police were waiting for the SWAT team to arrive based on the judgment that Mr. A was armed inside the house.

The police SWAT team arrived at the scene at 10:16 PM and only entered after opening the front door around 10:43 PM. This was 70 minutes after the first call was made.

At that time, Mr. A was already unconscious from gunshot wounds and was transported to the hospital, but ultimately died.

The incident occurred during a family gathering on Mr. A’s birthday. He suddenly left the gathering and returned with a homemade gun he had stored in a vehicle and fired at his 30s son.

After fleeing to Seoul immediately after the crime, Mr. A was arrested in an emergency approximately three hours later. Flammable substances and ignition devices were also found at the scene, leading the police to apply charges of preparing arson of a dwelling.

Currently, the police are conducting a investigation and have detained Mr. A on charges of murder and attempted murder (against his daughter-in-law, two grandchildren, and a friend) as well as violations of the firearms and explosives control law.
