“Here to meet a lawmaker”… Man carrying hundreds of blank shots attempts to enter the National Assembly

An 80-year-old man attempted to enter the National Assembly with hundreds of nail gun blanks.

A man in his 80s, identified as Mr. A, was caught by the police while trying to enter the National Assembly carrying hundreds of nail gun blanks.

According to the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul on the 22nd, at around 7:40 AM that day, Mr. A was apprehended after trying to enter the National Assembly premises with hundreds of nail gun blanks used for nailing concrete or metal structures at construction sites.

Mr. A attempted to enter through the main gate of the National Assembly on a motorcycle.

Inside a plastic bag he was carrying, between 300 and 400 nail gun blanks were discovered.

These blanks contain gunpowder inside, classifying them as explosive hazardous materials.

Additionally, it was confirmed that Mr. A also possessed more than 50 million won in cash.

According to police investigations, Mr. A reportedly stated that he had come to meet a member of the National Assembly.

The police determined that Mr. A appeared to have a mental illness and took administrative hospitalization measures.
