"After the Birthday Party with His Son… He Pulled the Trigger in Front of His Grandchild"
A man in his 60s, accused of killing his son with a homemade firearm, is scheduled to appear in court on the 22nd for a pre-arrest interrogation (warrant examination). CCTV footage from the day of the crime showing him carrying a large bag out of his home in Seoul has been released, adding to the shock of the case.
According to News1, a warrant examination for Mr. A, who faces charges of murder, violations of the Firearms, Swords, and Explosives Act, violations of the Explosives Control Act, and preparing to commit arson, will be held at the Incheon District Court at 2 PM that day.

Mr. A is accused of shooting his 30s son, Mr. B, with a homemade firearm around 9:31 PM on the 20th at an apartment in Songdo International City, Incheon. He is also charged with attempting arson by installing 15 homemade explosives made from thinner and detergent containers at his residence in Dobong District, Seoul.
According to the police investigation, Mr. A attended a meal prepared by Mr. B’s family for his birthday, then briefly stepped out before returning with the homemade firearm and shooting his son in front of his daughter-in-law and grandchild. Two of the three shots fired were aimed at his son’s chest, while the remaining shot was directed toward the entrance. There were 86 live rounds remaining at the scene.

CCTV Captures Suspicious Behavior Hours Before the Incident
Hours before the crime, Mr. A's suspicious behavior was captured on CCTV at his home in Dobong District, Seoul.
According to footage obtained by YTN, at around 4 PM on the day of the incident, Mr. A was seen carrying out a large bag, appearing anxious as he opened the bag multiple times. He then loaded the bag into the trunk of his vehicle and left the scene.

According to police, immediately after the crime, Mr. A used a rental car to head towards Misari in Seoul. He was apprehended in the city around 12:20 AM on the 21st, approximately three hours later. At the time of his arrest, Mr. A was not under the influence of alcohol, and there were no traces of drugs found. It has also been confirmed that he has no history of mental illness or prior convictions.
Divorced 20 Years Ago… Police Suspect Family Conflict
Mr. A is currently unemployed and reportedly divorced from his wife around 20 years ago. The police believe Mr. A's actions stemmed from familial conflict, and if a warrant is issued, they plan to use a professional profiler to analyze his mental state and the specific motives behind his actions in detail.
