Rescue Workers at Yeongdeok Beach Save Life with Swift Response

A Chinese tourist who collapsed from cardiac arrest at the Hajo Beach in Yeongdeok, Gyeongsangbuk-do, was saved thanks to the quick response of the water rescue workers.

According to a statement from Yeongdeok County on the 21st, an incident occurred on the 19th when a Chinese tourist, referred to as A, suddenly lost consciousness and fell while resting on a sitting area set up at Hajo Beach in Ganggu-myeon, Yeongdeok.

Four lifeguards who witnessed this urgent situation immediately rushed to the scene to assess A's condition.

The rescue workers identified that A was in cardiac arrest and promptly performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The rescuers took turns administering continuous CPR in a relay manner, and thanks to their quick and professional emergency treatment, A was able to regain consciousness shortly thereafter.

Immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was performed.

After regaining consciousness, A was quickly transported to a nearby hospital by the 119 emergency services who arrived on the scene.

Currently, A is reported to be in stable condition and not in danger of losing life.

Yeongdeok County has deployed rescue workers to seven designated beaches and conducted regular first aid training, effectively enabling them to respond to emergencies like this one.
