Former Representative Cho Kuk: Criticizes People Power Party as "Old Ilbe" and Calls for Dissolution
Former Representative Cho Kuk of the Justice Party has strongly criticized the People Power Party, referring to it as "Old Ilbe" and asserting that it should "be dissolved or go bankrupt."
On the 20th, Cho revealed his views through an open letter from prison, which was shared by Secretary-General Hwang Hyun-sun.

In the letter, Cho specifically pointed out the actions of the People Power Party.
He stated, "The leadership of the People Power Party instructed its members to gather at the party headquarters rather than in the National Assembly at the very moment when the vote to lift the state of emergency was taking place."
He further criticized, "When the investigative agency attempted to arrest the instigator of insurrection, Yoon Seok-youl, as per the warrant issued by the court, 45 members gathered in front of the Hanam-dong residence to obstruct law enforcement."
Cho also added, "They attended events hosted by extreme right-wing groups, spreading false accusations against the Constitutional Court judges. They were 'Old Ilbe' and one body with the 'Asphalt Right.'"
Possibility of Unconstitutional Party Dissolution Mentioned

Cho noted, "Thus, it has come to the point where former Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo, who was a presidential candidate for the People Power Party, warned that the party could be dissolved as an unconstitutional party."
He argued, "The results of the ongoing insurrection trial will make this even clearer, but even before that, the Ministry of Justice must thoroughly investigate and compile the People Power Party's constitutional issues."
Earlier, the Justice Party urged the Ministry of Justice to file for a judicial review of the People Power Party's unconstitutionality during a press conference on January 5.
The party dissolution review system allows the Constitutional Court to decide on the dissolution of parties that threaten the constitutional order.
Criticism of Former President Yoon Seok-youl's Behavior

Meanwhile, Cho strongly criticized the recent actions of former President Yoon Seok-youl.
He pointed out, "The various behaviors exhibited by Yoon Seok-youl recently are provoking frustration and anger among the people," adding, "While he refuses to apologize to the public, he sends messages to right-wing group gatherings and seeks to meet with conspiracy theorists about election fraud from the U.S."
Cho remarked, "The one who displayed his skills in bomb shots is now whining that he can't handle the investigation due to health issues, that he cannot bear detention," questioning, "What would 'Prosecutor Yoon Seok-youl' have done to 'Suspect Yoon Seok-youl'?"
In conclusion, Cho emphasized, "We must hold accountable the party that produced the instigator of insurrection and supported, protected, or condoned his illegal acts," reiterating, "The People Power Party must be dissolved or go bankrupt."
