The Evolution of Digital Sexual Crimes: The Reality of 'Park-jae Bang' Beyond 'Doctor's Room'

As the digital world progresses, the forms of crime are cunningly evolving as well.

Amid this, there are growing concerns about the emergence of digital sexual crimes that are worse than the 'Doctor's Room' incident that shocked the online community five years ago.

On the 17th, Channel A reported on a more heinous form of crime called 'Park-jae Bang,' which caused suffering to many victims, surpassing Jo Joo-bin's Telegram sexual exploitation channel, 'Doctor's Room.'

According to the report, 'Park-jae Bang' is named for the practice of "preserving" victims' personal information online as if it were an exhibit in a museum.

When accessing the publicly available address, the reality of Park-jae Bang was revealed.

With a staggering 1,300 members, this room shared not only photos of the victims' bodies but also their contact information, age, school, account numbers, home addresses, and even communal entrance passwords.

Even more shockingly, there is a Park-jae Bang that specifically targets minors. This space publicly shared not only body photos and home addresses but also the parents' photos and contact information of the victims with 600 members.

The media reported that to verify whether this information was accurate, they compared the names on the disclosed contact numbers and bank account numbers, finding a 75% match. This indicates that most of the information indeed belongs to the actual victims.

The Operations and Revenue Structure of Park-jae Bang

Operator A of Park-jae Bang seems to boast about the financial gains he is deriving from this.

A stated to Channel A, "I tell them, 'If you give me money, I'll take down the preservation,' so I get up to 400,000 won a month, typically receiving about 100,000 won per case."

When asked if it was possible to take down the content, A replied, "I have preserved information on 120 individuals. I get tips or take them directly. There are many others who haven’t even been reported. I have over 300 photos alone."

How did the victims become targets for preservation? One user of Park-jae Bang recounted, "I heard it was a boyfriend, and they had a fight."

A specialist who confirmed the realities of Park-jae Bang sighed, stating, "It's devastating."

Similar to the Doctor's Room, which shared sexual exploitation materials using Telegram, experts believe that Park-jae Bang has also evolved in a more vicious manner by utilizing SNS servers based overseas.

Channel A reported that they submitted the materials obtained during their investigation to the police, who are currently conducting an investigation into the crimes of Park-jae Bang.
