70-Year-Old Man Abusing Stray Dogs for Food Purposes Under Police Investigation
A man in his 70s is under police investigation for brutally abusing stray dogs for food purposes and abandoning them in irrigation channels.

On the 17th, the Jeongeup Police Station in Jeollabuk-do announced that a 74-year-old man, referred to as A, had been charged with violating the Animal Protection Act.
According to the police, A is suspected of capturing a stray dog under a bridge on a river in Jeongeup using a snare, and then mercilessly hitting it with a farming tool around 10 AM on the 15th.
When A noticed the police responding to a citizen’s report of the incident, he threw the dog, which he had stuffed into a bag, into the irrigation channel and fled.
Severely Injured Stray Dog Currently Under Treatment

According to information released by the Animal Freedom Alliance, the abused dog has suffered serious injuries, including broken facial bones, and is currently receiving intensive care at an animal hospital.
During the police investigation, it is reported that A stated, "I committed the act for food purposes."
The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the crime against A.
