Parents Protest Screening of 12 and Older Animation in Kindergarten
There is a controversy after it was revealed that a kindergarten showed a 12 and older rated animation to 5-year-old children.
According to a post on an online community on the 17th, a parent expressed shock upon learning that her 5-year-old daughter watched "K-Pop Demon Hunters" (hereinafter referred to as "Kedehun") at kindergarten.
Parent A explained, "My 5-year-old daughter was shown 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' by the teacher at kindergarten," and added, "The child was talking about demons, and I was perplexed by what she was saying."
Parent A further expressed, "We were listening to a musical song on YouTube, and it played randomly. The child knows it all. I'm really angry. If I call and complain, will that make me a difficult parent?"

Concerns Over Unrestricted Screening of Age-Restricted Content in Kindergarten
The controversial animation "Kedehun" is a work released on Netflix, featuring a dual world where members of a popular K-pop girl group hunt demons outside of their stage life in a musical animation. The work prominently features depictions related to exorcisms in Korea.
As this incident became known, various opinions have been expressed online regarding showing a 12 and older rated work to 5-year-old children in kindergarten.

Some internet users sympathized with the parent's position, stating, "There is a problem. I would have complained too. There are many ghosts. There’s a reason it's not suitable for under 12," and added, "Is there an institution that does not respect the prescribed viewing age? It's entirely the fault of the kindergarten teachers and the kindergarten."
Other comments included, "The viewing age must be observed. This is a situation that warrants a complaint," and "Of course, parental consent should have been obtained."
On the other hand, some interpreted the situation differently, stating, "It was viewed under the teacher's supervision, so it shouldn’t be a problem," "Maybe they just showed a music video," and "How can a 5-year-old concentrate on something long? These days, kids lose focus after just 5 minutes and are busy moving around."
