The movie 'Grave Destruction' (directed by Jeong Jae-hyun) is set to meet Japanese audiences.
According to the local distributor, 'Grave Destruction' will be released in Japan on October 18. It will be available in over 76 theaters nationwide, including Tokyo's Shinjuku Piccadilly.
The teaser poster has also been unveiled. It has a quite different feel compared to the Korean version. It contrasts the tense expressions of Choi Min-sik, Kim Go-eun, Yoo Hae-jin, and Lee Do-hyun with the excavated grave site.
'Grave Destruction' belongs to the occult mystery genre. It tells the story of strange incidents that happen to a feng shui master, a mortician, and shamans who relocate a suspicious grave for a large amount of money.
The film has surpassed ten million viewers. According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticket network, it has attracted a total of 11.91 million moviegoers. It is the biggest hit of the year and ranks 20th in the all-time box office.
It has been sold to 133 countries worldwide, including Mongolia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, the UK, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Macau.
It also received numerous invitations from international film festivals. 'Grave Destruction' was listed in the Forum section of the 74th Berlin International Film Festival and was also invited to the 26th Udine Far East Film Festival.
