“It's very sad…” (Jungkook)
BTS member Jungkook shared his thoughts on the Netflix animated film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' (directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhanz).
On the 14th, Jungkook held a live broadcast on the global fan platform Weverse. He mentioned, "I watched 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' in the Korean dub."
He reacted to some scenes while rewatching them. He was particularly absorbed in the moment when 'Lion Boys' Jinwoo confronts an evil spirit to protect 'Huntrix' Lumi.
Jungkook said, “(Jinwoo) shouldn’t throw himself into harm's way. He can fight alongside (Lumi).” He added, “Why turn your back and block it? If you block it together, your strength would be amplified.”
He confessed that he cried during Jinwoo's disappearance scene. After replaying that moment, he expressed his disappointment by saying, “(Jinwoo) you fool. Just hit them.”
Towards the end of the movie, when Lumi shouts, "I'm going to create my own ghost story," his eyes welled up. He noted, “It’s not that I cried because it was sad, but because it was overwhelming.”
Jungkook also delivered the original soundtrack (OST) for 'K-Pop Demon Hunters.' He hummed the Lion Boys' song 'Soda Pop' in English.
Netflix is excited about Jungkook's shoutout for 'K-Pop Demon Hunters,' especially since about 10 million people tuned in to his live broadcast.
The official X (formerly Twitter) account filled its header and bio with references to Jungkook. They wrote, “Jungkook watched 'K-Pop Demon Hunters'” and uploaded a screenshot from the broadcast.
Directors also reacted to Jungkook's shoutout. Director Maggie Kang was impressed by a video of Jungkook focused on the movie, saying, “He’s really enjoying it.”
Director Chris Appelhanz retweeted a related video, adding an emoji that indicates tears, indirectly conveying his gratitude toward Jungkook.
Meanwhile, Jungkook and the rest of BTS are preparing for a new album in a location in the United States. They are expected to make a full group comeback in the spring of next year.
