PlayB has set a new record with their debut in Japan.
According to the latest Oricon statistics (as of the 15th), PlayB achieved first place on the 'Weekly Single Ranking' with their first Japanese single 'Kakurengo' (かくれんぼ). They sold 220,000 copies in the first week. The counting period was from the 7th to the 13th. Despite being a debut album, it received a warm response, proving their local popularity.
They also set a new record this year, recording the highest initial sales (sales volume within the first week of album release) among works by overseas artists, surpassing the record of 150,000 copies set by TOURS.
PlayB topped the Oricon chart once again. Their third mini album 'Caligo Pt.1' reached number one on the Oricon Daily Album Chart in February.
'Kakurengo' features three Japanese tracks: the original track of the same name, and the Japanese versions of 'RIZZ' and 'Chroma Drift.'
PlayB released the audio source on the 16th of last month and held a debut showcase in Tokyo on the 17th. They also ran a pop-up store in Shibuya to announce their full-scale activities.
Meanwhile, PlayB is preparing for their first Asian tour. They will kick off 'Dash: Quantum Leap' at the KESP Dome in Seoul from the 15th to the 17th of next month.
