At that time, the Yeoncheon area was under a heat wave warning, with the perceived temperature exceeding 35 degrees Celsius. The two officers immediately stopped their vehicle, assisted Mr. A to their car, and provided first aid for injuries he had sustained from the fall.

In a moment of training on heatwave response, the two officers practiced emergency measures amidst the scorching conditions.

They wiped Mr. A's body with a wet towel and helped him hydrate to lower his body temperature.

Afterward, they handed Mr. A over to the 119 emergency service that arrived on the scene, and fortunately, he has been reported to have recovered his health.

Sergeants Park and Jang, who participated in the rescue, expressed, "We usually receive training on preventing heat injuries, so our bodies reacted instinctively," adding, "As soldiers, it is our duty to protect the lives of citizens, and we will continue to do our best in our assigned missions."

This case serves as a reminder of the safety of the elderly during heatwaves and highlights the importance of military personnel's civilian rescue activities in real situations.
