Black Eagles Fly Over the Han River… Preparations for Defense Industry Day Citizen Event in Full Swing
Many citizens of Seoul are likely startled by the sudden sound of fighter jets tearing through the sky.
If you were worried, thinking "Is there a war happening?", you can rest assured.
The airspace over the Han River in Seoul is soon to become the stage for a spectacular airshow, and the sounds you’re hearing are from intensive flight training.

On the 10th, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) is preparing a special citizen participation event in celebration of 'Defense Industry Day' (July 8). The stars of the event are the Air Force's special flight team, the 'Black Eagles'.
DAPA announced that "the Black Eagles will conduct flight training in the area between Banpo Bridge and Dongjak Bridge from the 10th to the 12th."
The team consists of eight T-50B supersonic jets, which generate noise during their advanced maneuvers.
This training process is a preparatory step for the main event on the 12th and offers a chance to preview the grand airshow set to take place in the heart of Seoul.

Caution: Aircraft Noise! Disaster Text Messages to Be Sent
The flight training will take place from 10 AM to 11 AM, during which aircraft noise may occur, according to DAPA.
Residents around the flight path, including those in Seocho-gu, Gangnam-gu, Dongjak-gu, Seongdong-gu, and Yongsan-gu, need to be aware of the sudden noise to avoid being startled.
Disaster text messages will also be sent to the affected areas in advance.

The main event will be held on July 12 at Banpo Hangang Park.
From 10 AM to 6 PM, various hands-on programs will be available, promising a special experience for family visitors.
The highlight of the day will undoubtedly be the airshow by the Black Eagles starting at 11 AM. This approximately 10-minute performance will showcase the spectacular skills and precise formation flying of the pride of the Republic of Korea Air Force, the Black Eagles.
The finale of the event will be a fireworks show lasting about 15 minutes, taking place from 8:45 PM to 9 PM.
The dazzling fireworks, intertwined with the summer night scenery of the Han River, will provide unforgettable memories for visitors.
Why not come this Saturday to Banpo Hangang Park to enjoy the wonderful airshow and beautiful fireworks?
