The OST "GOLDEN" from 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' has been nominated for the Academy Award (Oscar) for Best Original Song.

Billboard reported on the 8th that "Netflix is set to submit the OST 'GOLDEN' from 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' for the Academy Awards' Best Original Song category. To this end, a single album was released on the 4th."

The song was co-composed by five individuals: Kim Eun-jae, Marc Sonnenblick, Ideyo, 24, and Teddy. If "GOLDEN" is nominated for the award, they will become the first Korean composers to receive a nomination in that category.

Billboard speculated, "There is a possibility that 'GOLDEN' could become the second animation OST in history to be nominated for the Best Original Song award." In 2022, Disney's "Encanto" won the award with "Dos Oruguitas."

The Academy Awards shared a clip of "GOLDEN" from 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' on social media on the 30th of last month, expressing affection by stating, "Huntress didn’t just save the world; she also saved my Spotify."

"GOLDEN" garnered an enthusiastic response right after its release. It entered the Billboard 200 chart at number 8 and reached number 3 on the US Spotify Daily Top Songs chart, marking the highest ranking ever for a K-pop girl group song.

Other OSTs are also experiencing steady popularity. Tracks like “How It’s Done” (42nd), “Soda Pop” (49th), “What It Sounds Like” (55th), “Free” (58th), and “Takedown” (64th) have all charted on the Billboard Hot 100.
