The movie 'Superman' (directed by James Gunn) has started off as the number one in ticket reservations. 'Superman' was released in South Korea on the 9th. According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computerized ticket sales network, the film shows a real-time reservation rate of 27.0% as of the 9th.
Amidst competition with other major films, it performed well. A total of 92,683 people pre-booked tickets. Although it did not exceed 100,000 viewers, its sales surpassed 1 billion won. 'Superman' is the movie that global audiences are most looking forward to among the productions being released this year. It topped the list of 'Most Anticipated Films of 2025' conducted by the American site IMDb.
It's no surprise, as James Gunn, the newly appointed head of DC Studios, took on both writing and directing for this film. This is also the first film he is releasing since his appointment.
Reactions from the preview screenings have been positive. Variety stated, "It pays tribute to the previous works while carving a magnificent path." Film critic Grace Randolph described it as "the best Superman of all time."
Meanwhile, 'Jurassic World: New Beginnings' holds the second place in ticket reservations with 11.8%, while 'F1: The Movie' remains in third place with 9.4%.
