Jeonghan and Wonwoo from 'SEVENTEEN' have achieved significant success in Japan with their debut single album.
According to the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), Jeonghan and Wonwoo earned a 'Gold' certification for their single "THIS MAN." As of June, the cumulative shipment of the album had exceeded 100,000 copies.
The RIAJ certifies singles and albums every month based on cumulative shipments, with categories such as 'Double Platinum' (over 500,000 copies), 'Platinum' (over 250,000 copies), and 'Gold' (over 100,000 copies).
SEVENTEEN has received a total of 16 Gold Disc certifications from the RIAJ to date. This latest recognition for their special unit album further demonstrates their immense popularity in Japan.
"THIS MAN" captivated the Japanese market immediately upon release last month, breaking the record for the highest first-week sales of a K-pop unit album with over 780,000 copies sold in its initial week.
That's not all. It also topped the Oricon Daily Single Ranking (as of June 20) and ranked 2nd on both the Weekly Album Ranking and the Weekly Combined Album Ranking.
The title track "Last Night" (guitar by Park Joo-won) is also gaining immense popularity. It maintained a top position on Line Music's real-time "Song Top 100," Japan's largest music streaming site, and ranked 3rd on the Billboard Japan Hot 100.
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN, including Jeonghan and Wonwoo, will hold a fan meeting titled "SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND" (2024 SVT 8TH FAN MEETING <SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND>) at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 23rd and 24th.
