Na Kyung-won to President Lee: “Start Your Trial Again and Stand Before the People Proudly”

"Reinstatement of President Lee Jae-myung's Trial Must Happen Immediately"… Na Kyung-won Criticizes Damage to Rule of Law

Na Kyung-won, a member of the People Power Party, urged President Lee Jae-myung to "humbly face the law and promptly resume his trial to stand before the nation with dignity."

On the 7th, she stated through her Facebook, "This is the spirit of the Constitution and the essence of the rule of law."

She continued to criticize, saying, "The ruling party has launched a task force to counter the prosecution's fabricated charges, openly attempting to 'overturn a guilty verdict.'" She added, "Despite the legal proceedings of President Lee's related cases being finalized by the Supreme Court or going through indictment processes, they label it as 'prosecutorial manipulation,' denying the entire investigation and trial. This is organized judicial manipulation that goes beyond judicial dissent."

Na also referenced past cases. She noted, "When former Prime Minister Han Myeong-sook was found guilty of receiving illegal political funds, the Democratic Party claimed it was a fabrication by the prosecution and demanded an investigation and retrial." She pointed out, "Ultimately, the attempt to distort the judicial system and mislead public judgment without any new evidence is being repeated at the level of the regime to block investigations into President Lee and themselves."

"Control over Investigative Authority Leads to Judicial Dependency, Not Independence"

Na expressed, "The legislative pushes for establishing a National Investigation Commission, abolishing the prosecution office, and creating a public prosecution office are not reforms, but declarations of intent to weaken the regime's investigations and concentrate investigative authority into the hands of power." She warned, "Having the National Investigation Commission under the Prime Minister's oversight and controlling investigation distribution amounts to the President holding investigative authority directly. This is an attempt to institutionalize judicial dependency rather than independence."

She further stated, "This trend ultimately serves as 'legislative shielding' that transforms regime crimes into innocence, disguised as 'judicial reform,' and the damage falls squarely on the public. Delays in investigations, gaps, and inadequate investigations leave innocent victims abandoned, and judicial fairness is lost."

"'Self-surveillance' is merely a license to absolve… The Public Will Deliver Judgment"

Regarding the controversy over the special inspector, Na highlighted, "If a self-surveillance system is implemented solely with ruling party personnel while excluding the opposition, it is not oversight but merely a means to absolve through the system."

She added, "The public remembers. The 'Han Myeong-sook innocence' frame and the 'Lee Jae-myung manipulation indictment' frame were all schemes for the political survival of the Democratic Party."

Finally, Na warned, "The attempt to consolidate legislative, investigative, and judicial powers in one hand to transform guilty into innocent is no longer politics but judicial dictatorship. Any attempts to reign over the Constitution and judicial fairness will inevitably be judged by the public."
