20s Man Paralyzed from the Waist Down Due to Valley Diving Accident

A serious incident occurred in a valley in Okryong-myeon, Gwangyang-si, Jeollanam-do, where a 24-year-old man sustained severe injuries while diving.

According to the fire department, at around 2:11 PM on the 6th, Mr. A was diving in the valley when he struck his head against an underwater rock.

As a result of this accident, Mr. A became paralyzed and lost sensation in his lower body, requiring immediate transportation to a nearby hospital.

His friends, who were at the scene, quickly rescued him from the water and pulled him out of the valley, where he was handed over to the 119 emergency crew that arrived after receiving the report.
