On the 6th, Im Eun-jung expressed her strong will for prosecution reform through her Facebook account.

In a post reflecting on her first day at work that afternoon, she announced her commitment to playing the role of a "funeral director" to conclude an era of the prosecution.

Im stated, "I attended the investigation committee as a witness in February 2018 due to the Me Too movement initiated by prosecutor Seo Ji-hyun. If we had properly fixed the prosecution then, the tidal wave of prosecutorial structural reform would not have hit us so fiercely."

In particular, Chief Prosecutor Im remarked, "I wanted to be a doctor who fixes the prosecution, but I have long realized that with my insufficient abilities, I will have to be a funeral director handling the prosecution's funeral."

She continued, "In order to open a new era, we must conclude the previous one well, so I believe that a funeral director has a significant role and I am determined to carry it out well."

Expectation for the 'Determined DNA' of the Eastern District Prosecutors' Office

Im expressed her hopes for the Eastern District Prosecutors' Office by referencing the past instance when its prosecutors resolved to collectively challenge decisions made by the prosecution leadership.

She added, "Although the pressure from the Supreme Prosecutors' Office was immense and eventually suppressed us, I believe that with the DNA of determination here (in the Eastern District Prosecutors' Office), it is worth trying."

Previously, on the 4th, during her inauguration speech on her first day at the Eastern District Prosecutors' Office, Im emphasized, "The prosecution is on the operating table, and I believe that if we do not show a changed appearance, we may face reforms close to disbandment."
