Teen Runaway Gang Assaults Men and Extorts Money Under the Pretense of 'Conditional Meetings'
It has been revealed that a group of teenage runaways, who lured men under the guise of 'conditional meetings,' continued their criminal activities while being pursued by the police, stating, "Let's gather 100 million won."
On the 4th, JTBC reported that among the six male and female teenagers associated with a group known as "wooden stick assailants" facing charges including robbery and assault, five have been arrested.
According to reports, this organization, composed of teenage runaways, committed their crimes against men who visited unmanned motels in the Yongin and Icheon areas of Gyeonggi Province for the purpose of conditional meetings.

They used indiscriminate violence, inflicting serious injuries on parts of the victims' bodies, and even recorded the assaults on video.
More maliciously, they threatened to distribute these assault videos to the victims' families and coerced the victims into taking out loans on the spot, extorting hundreds of thousands of won. So far, four victims have been confirmed.
The criminal activities of this group came to light when a teenager who harbored dissatisfaction over profit distribution within the organization voluntarily reported to the police. However, it is astonishing that even the day after the police investigation began, they continued their crimes by recruiting new members.

In particular, they had a laid-back belief that they could "just serve one or two years in prison and come out," and they even reaffirmed their resolve to commit crimes, suggesting, "Let's gather 100 million won and go to prison."
The police apprehended all members of the gang within two days of starting the investigation, based on the statements of the cooperating member and tracking through CCTV footage.
Currently, the police plan to investigate any additional crimes committed by this group before transferring them to the prosecution while in custody.
