Gallup analyzed, "The gap in approval ratings between the ruling and opposition parties has persisted since the presidential election," adding, "In May 2022, when President Yoon Seok-yeol took office, the People Power Party’s approval increased from 40% to 45%, while the Democratic Party fell from 41% to 31%. After President Moon Jae-in took office in 2017, the Democratic Party's approval rating surged from 35% to 48%."
Democratic Party leadership election: Jeong Cheong-rae leads while Park Chan-dae pursues
In a preference survey for the Democratic Party leadership election, Congressman Jeong Cheong-rae recorded 32% while Congressman Park Chan-dae recorded 28%, indicating a close contest within the margin of error. However, among the Democratic Party's supporting members, Jeong led with 47% compared to Park's 37%, surpassing the margin of error (sampling error ±4.6 percentage points).
Gallup stated, "The election for the Democratic Party leadership will be reflected as 70% coming from member votes (15% from delegates, 55% from rights members) and 30% from general public opinion polls," further noting, "The member electorate within the sample of 1,000 is less than 30, making it difficult to gauge the results using only general opinion polls."
It was also mentioned, "In the 2024 primary, President Lee Jae-myung succeeded in being re-elected as party leader with a voting rate of 85.4% for the first time in 24 years, having received 77.8% of the votes in 2022. In a survey just before the 2020 primary, 71% of the Democratic Party's supporters favored candidate Lee Nak-yeon."

Meanwhile, this survey was conducted through telephone interviews by survey agents using randomly selected virtual numbers provided by the three mobile carriers.
The sampling error is ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level, with a response rate of 12.1%. Detailed information can be found on the website of the Central Election Survey Deliberation Commission.
