Park Eun-jung: “Han Duck-soo exercised veto power over special prosecution for ‘BTS’… seems to have engaged in major tasks of insurrection.”

Park Eun-jung raises suspicions about former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo’s involvement in the martial law declaration.

Park Eun-jung, a member of the Justice and Innovation Party, has raised serious suspicions regarding former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo's actions related to the martial law declaration.

Rep. Park emphasized the need for an investigation, suggesting that rather than opposing the martial law declaration, Han appears to have actively participated or neglected to act.

On the 3rd, Park, who has served as an inspection officer at the Ministry of Justice and as the head of the Seongnam District Prosecutor's Office, appeared on MBC Radio's "Kim Jong-bae's Focus" and stated, "Former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo's unusual actions following the insurrection, such as rejecting the appointment of constitutional court justices, opposing the special law for insurrection investigations, nominating Lee Wan-kyu as the head of the Legislation Office as a constitutional court justice, and announcing his candidacy for the presidential election, can now be explained.”

Rep. Park particularly analyzed Han’s announcement to run for president, stating, "Jumping into the presidential race claiming that he would step down from acting presidential authority is due to a scheme to evade punishment by becoming the president."

The actions of former Prime Minister Han revealed through CCTV footage

Rep. Park mentioned, "Until now, Han Duck-soo has claimed he 'opposed the martial law' and 'did not acquiesce,' but yesterday the CCTV footage from the 5th floor of the Presidential Office was released," pointing out that Han's claims may be false.

The mentioned CCTV footage captures Han meeting with former President Yoon Seok-youl in the presidential office during the declaration of martial law on the night of December 3 last year and appears to show him waiting for cabinet members before a cabinet meeting while holding two copies of documents.

Rep. Park stated, "This contradicts his claim of 'not knowing about the martial law documents' and 'finding them later in his back pocket,'" and raised doubts, saying, "Han held a cabinet meeting to ensure the minimum quorum of 11 members by additionally summoning cabinet members, didn't he?"

He further claimed, "This essentially suggests complicity in the insurrection, which could expand charges to include engaging in significant insurrection duties."

Engaging in significant insurrection duties is a serious crime that can be punished by death or life imprisonment.

When asked by the host about the possibility of requesting an arrest warrant for former Prime Minister Han, Rep. Park replied, "If complicity or significant insurrection duties are recognized, then it is only natural to process his offenses, and an investigation is necessary."

Rep. Park stressed, “Han’s role during the cabinet meeting, as well as the preparation and destruction of the martial law documents afterward, are very serious offenses,” urging the insurrection special investigation team led by Cho Eun-seok to conduct further investigations into premeditated conspiracies and significant insurrection duties.
