Death Incident of a 50-Year-Old Woman Due to Assault in a Vehicle

A man in his 40s has been arrested by the police on suspicion of assaulting a woman in her 50s he knew, leading to her death inside a vehicle.

The Anseong police department announced on the 3rd that they have urgently arrested A on charges of homicide through assault and are currently conducting an investigation.

According to the investigative authorities, A is accused of assaulting a woman in her 50s, B, inside her vehicle while she was driving, which resulted in her death.

A is reported to have called 119 around 1:20 a.m. on the same day from a parking lot near B's residence in Myeongnyun-dong, Anseong, stating, "The passenger is not moving. She is not breathing."

Progress of the Investigation and Future Plans

Upon receiving the report and dispatching to the scene, the police identified suspicious circumstances during their investigation of A and urgently arrested him around 4:10 a.m. the same day.

Currently, it is known that A denies the allegations against him.

The police have requested an autopsy of B's body from the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of death, planning to ascertain the specifics of the crime through this examination.

A police official stated, "We need additional investigation to clarify the exact location of the crime and the motive," showing a cautious stance.

The police investigation aiming to reveal the full details of the assault homicide case will continue, and it is expected that the truth of the incident will be established through the autopsy results and additional evidence collection.
