BB gun shooting victim dog 'Maehwa' eventually undergoes enucleation surgery
In Geoje, Gyeongnam, the pet dog 'Maehwa', which was shot hundreds of times with BB gun pellets by active duty Marines and others, has undergone enucleation surgery after suffering severe injuries.
On the 2nd, the Beagle Rescue Network announced on its official SNS, "Maehwa, who survived, has had her whole body severely injured, and four anesthesia procedures were performed to save her eye that was directly hit by the BB pellets." It further stated, "Eventually, Maehwa's eye went blind, and she underwent enucleation surgery the day before."

Earlier, on the 8th of last month, three men in their 20s, including an active duty Marine, indiscriminately fired BB pellets at four puppies tied up in a pension yard.
As a result of their brutal animal abuse, one pet dog died, and other dogs, including Maehwa, sustained severe injuries.
The Beagle Rescue Network reported, "Maehwa, who was very affectionate and unusually gentle, is now suffering from severe trauma, barking at people and even biting her owner due to the BB gun incident." It also added, "The owner of the affected dog is experiencing immense loss and shock, making everyday life extremely difficult and painful, to the point where they cannot even receive words of consolation."
