The late actor Lee Sun-kyun's final film 'Land of Happiness' (directed by Choo Chang-min) is stirring up curiosity among prospective viewers.

'Land of Happiness' deals with the trial of the 1979 presidential assassination. It features 'Park Tae-joo,' whose fate will be decided by a single verdict, and the lawyer 'Jung In-hoo' who struggles to save him.

Firstly, Lee Sun-kyun plays the soldier 'Park Tae-joo.' He is a steadfast character caught up in an event that shook modern Korean history. He is expected to showcase an intense drama with his steadfast acting.

Cho Jung-seok takes on the role of the lawyer 'Jung In-hoo.' He is a character who believes that the court is about winning or losing, not justice. He goes all out to save Park Tae-joo.

Yoo Jae-myung plays another key figure in the October 26 incident, 'Jeon Sang-doo.' His deep and sharp performance is expected to add taut tension to the plot.

The main event in the movie is Park Tae-joo’s trial. It deals with the actual October 26 incident, known as the 'note trial.' The movie interestingly reinterprets the unfair trial process cinematically.

It is the latest work by director Choo Chang-min, who previously attracted ten million viewers with 'Masquerade.' Filming took place from 2021 to January 2022.

He said, "The courtroom scenes are the most crucial in our movie," adding, "We prepared meticulously to ensure that many of the events that actually took place in the courtroom could be faithfully expressed through the film's dialogue and situations," and asked for high expectations.

Meanwhile, 'Land of Happiness' is set to be released on the 14th of next month.
