Shinlim-dong Stabbing Incident: Police Request Search Warrant for Suspect's Residence
The investigation into the stabbing incident that occurred in Shinlim-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul, has begun in earnest.

According to Dong-A Ilbo on the 2nd, the Seoul Gwanak Police Department stated that they have applied for a search warrant for the residence of a man in his 30s, referred to as A, who died after jumping from a height following a stabbing spree against two men in their 20s and 30s, whom he had no prior acquaintance with.
According to police investigations, on the afternoon of the 29th of last month, A indiscriminately wielded a knife at the two men inside an apartment in Shinlim-dong.

A reportedly went to the victims' homes in the same building and rang the doorbell, suddenly attacking with the knife as soon as the door opened. The attack resulted in the two victims sustaining injuries to their shoulders and necks.
Notably, there was no prior connection between A and the victims. The police are expanding their investigation to determine the motive behind this indiscriminate attack targeting neighbors with whom A had no prior acquaintance.

Circumstances Indicating Electrical Interruption Before the Crime
A friend of the victims reported that prior to the crime, there were repeated incidents of electricity being cut off at the victims' residence, suggesting that A had intentionally manipulated the circuit breaker.
After the stabbing attack, A jumped from a height in the vicinity and was transported to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest but ultimately died.
The police stated on the 1st that they have requested an autopsy from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation to confirm whether A had been under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
A police official mentioned that although the suspect has died, the investigation will continue in order to clearly understand the entire circumstances surrounding the incident.
