The giant Korean flag unfolds in Dokdo to commemorate the 80th anniversary of liberation.
In Dokdo, an exclusive territory of the Republic of Korea, a large-scale performance of the national flag was held to mark the 80th anniversary of liberation.
On the 30th, Professor Seo Gyeong-deok of Sungshin Women's University revealed on his social media that he successfully organized an event with 80 citizens to unfold a giant Korean flag measuring 30 meters in width and 20 meters in height at Dongdo Wharf over the past weekend.

This event was carried out as part of the "Korean History Tour – Dokdo Edition," planned in collaboration with the travel technology research institute Tourista. Notably, the participants collectively raised funds to produce the Korean flag, adding significance to the event.
This performance, which raises awareness for the protection of Dokdo’s territory, is spreading through various online platforms both domestically and internationally.
Sustained efforts to promote Dokdo, plans for drone shows announced
Professor Seo stated, "The photos and videos of this performance are widely spreading across various online platforms at home and abroad," and revealed that they are preparing a multilingual drone show video where the giant Korean flag will be flown in the air over Dokdo.
He emphasized that they will continue to carry out global cultural content campaigns in Dokdo.

Having served as the first principal of the Dokdo School at the Independence Hall in 2013, Professor Seo has consistently engaged in various activities to protect Dokdo's sovereignty, including placing advertisements in prestigious overseas media such as The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
