Seoul City Launches 'Libraries Are Cool' Summer Campaign in 190 Public Libraries

Seoul City has prepared a special campaign for energy conservation and the promotion of reading culture during the summer season.

The campaign aims to promote an environmentally friendly approach by encouraging people to read in libraries instead of cooling their homes during the hot summer months.

This year's campaign will offer a total of 1,210 diverse reading culture programs to engage citizens.

Enjoying a 'Bookcation' with Various Programs and Participation Benefits

Key programs during the campaign include horror stories to help people forget the heat, summer sea cake making, and movie screenings for families to enjoy together. Special events for library visitors are also in place.

By verifying their library visit through QR codes, participants will have the chance to win one of 50 eco-friendly tumblers in a drawing.

Citizens wishing to participate in the campaign can view the July-August program schedule on the integrated information page of the Seoul Library website, and apply for their desired programs through each library's website.

O Ji-eun, the director of the Seoul Library, stated, "Libraries are spaces where one can avoid the heat and also contribute to protecting the Earth," and encouraged everyone to enjoy a 'Bookcation' that combines reading and environmental practices.
