Kim Sang-hwan Former Supreme Court Justice Nominated as Constitutional Court Chief Justice
President Lee Jae-myung has nominated former Supreme Court Justice Kim Sang-hwan as the candidate for the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court and Constitutional Court Justice. Another candidate for Constitutional Court Justice is Oh Young-jun, former Chief Judge of the Seoul High Court.
On the afternoon of the 26th at 3 PM, Chief Secretary Kang Hoon-sik of the Presidential Office briefed that President Lee has nominated candidates for the Chief Justice and Justices of the Constitutional Court, as well as the Commissioner of the National Tax Service.
First, it was reported that former Supreme Court Justice Kim Sang-hwan has been nominated as the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court and a Constitutional Court Justice.
Secretary Kang introduced the nominee Kim, stating, "He has served as a Constitutional Research Fellow at the Constitutional Court and as a Supreme Court Justice," and added, "He is well-known for his profound knowledge of constitutional and legal theories." He further explained the reasons for President Lee's nomination, saying, "He is the right person to bring insight into constitutional interpretation based on a deep understanding of our society."
Oh Young-jun, Former Chief Judge Nominated as Constitutional Court Justice Candidate
Regarding Oh Young-jun, who has been nominated as a Constitutional Court Justice, it was stated that he is "a judge who has served as a Supreme Court Research Fellow, Chief Research Fellow, Senior Research Fellow, and Chief Research Judge."
Additionally, it was mentioned, "As an outstanding judge recognized within the court, he will add depth to the judgments of the Constitutional Court."
Rep. Lim Kwang-hyun Nominated as Commissioner of the National Tax Service

The briefing also mentioned the nomination of a candidate for the Commissioner of the National Tax Service, which is subject to a confirmation hearing at the vice-minister level.
President Lee has nominated Lim Kwang-hyun, a member of the Democratic Party, as the new candidate for the Commissioner of the National Tax Service.
Secretary Kang explained, "Candidate Lim is a tax administration expert who has served as the Director of the Seoul Regional Tax Office and as the Deputy Commissioner of the National Tax Service," and noted, "Through his activities in the National Assembly's Planning and Finance Committee, he will contribute to fair tax administration and the protection of taxpayers based on his broad perspective."
