SEVENTEEN ranks 2nd in Oricon’s first half of the year…highest record for a foreign artist

Seventeen has proven its popularity in Japan. They have reached the highest ranking for overseas artists on the Oricon's first half album chart.

On the 25th, Oricon announced the list for 'Oricon Half-Year Ranking 2025' on their official website. The counting period spans from December 9 of last year to August 8 of this year.

Seventeen has charted in two categories with their fifth studio album 'HAPPY BURSTDAY.' They achieved 2nd place in the 'Combined Album Ranking' and 3rd place in the 'Album Ranking.'

They have also set the record for the highest album sales among overseas artists. 'HAPPY BURSTDAY' surpassed 500,000 copies shipped just five days after its release.

The new album has topped various charts. It ranked first on Oricon's 'Daily Album Ranking,' 'Weekly Album Ranking,' and 'Weekly Combined Album Ranking.'

Their fourth Japanese single 'Shohikigen' (消費期限) has also secured a spot in the 'Single Ranking,' placing 20th with 210,000 points.

Meanwhile, Seventeen sings the theme song 'Where Love Passed' for the Japan-Korea joint drama 'Hatsukoi Dogs.'
