Mnet's 'I-LAND2' girl group has finally been completed.
'I-LAND2' aired its final episode on the 4th. Ten I-landers advanced to the finals, competing for the six spots in the debut group.
The opening performance was the signal song 'FINAL LOVE SONG' from 'I-LAND2'. The final contestants started and were joined by previously eliminated participants.
The member selection process continued. The last ten contestants were divided into two units. They performed Teddy's new songs 'DRIP' and 'FAKE IT'.
All received high praise. Leejung applauded the 'DRIP' unit, saying, "I was completely immersed. The stage made me emotional because I could feel their desperation to debut."
Taeyang praised the 'FAKE IT' unit, saying, "To show this level of performance in a live broadcast made me think 'they've become professionals,' and I enjoyed the stage."
The group's official name has also been revealed: 'izna'. It symbolizes a group that completes 'I' by joining 'N' for diversity and 'a' for infinite possibilities.
There was a change in the number of debut members. After confirming Choi Jung-eun, Bang Ji-min, Yoon Ji-yoon, Coco, Yoo Sa-rang, and Mai as members of 'izna', the judges announced an additional member.
From the initially planned 6-member group, they added one more to make it a 7-member group. Jung Se-bi joined as the final member, tearfully saying, "I will do my best as I have been given this opportunity."
A representative said, "'izna' has been completed with the joining of girls with infinite possibilities. They are expected to create a new sensation in the global K-pop market."
Meanwhile, 'izna' is preparing for their debut under Wake One, with Teddy as their producer.
