'BLACKPINK' Jennie has received praise from top international media outlets. Billboard announced on the 24th (local time) its list of the '50 Best Albums of the First Half of 2025 (Staff Picks)' on its official website. Jennie was the only K-pop artist to make the list, standing alongside global pop stars like Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, and Morgan Wallen.
Billboard noted, "The album begins with 'Like Jennie.' It's a track that serves as a declaration, introducing Jennie's unfiltered persona through honest and self-assured lyrics." They further emphasized, "Ruby symbolizes Jennie's artistry. It reflects a rare, authentic, and multifaceted existence," adding, "Jennie has flawlessly taken control of everything from sound to visuals, completing her own world."
Jennie also made it onto Rolling Stone's list of 'The Best Albums of 2025 So Far'. Rolling Stone commented, "Jennie has creatively reinterpreted R&B-centered pop music from the 2000s and 2010s."
American Complex also selected 'Ruby' as the 'Best Album of 2025', stating, "Jennie has opened a new chapter. She showcased a variety of vocal colors."
'Ruby' is Jennie's first full-length album. It marks her solo debut after leaving YG. Jennie played a leading role in the production, proving herself as an artist beyond just an idol.
Meanwhile, Jennie will kick off BLACKPINK's world tour 'DEADLINE IN GOYANG' at the Goyang Sports Complex main stadium on the 5th and 6th of next month.
