The special prosecution team led by Cho Eun-seok confirmed the issuance of a travel ban on former President Yoon Suk-yeol.
On the 25th, the special prosecution team investigating the insurrection and foreign exchange incident related to the December 3rd emergency martial law confirmed that a travel ban had been imposed on former President Yoon Suk-yeol.

According to the legal community, the special prosecution team began its full investigation on the 18th after receiving investigation records from the prosecution and police, executing measures to restrict former President Yoon's overseas travel.
This is the second travel ban against former President Yoon.
Previously, on December 9 of last year, the Ministry of Justice prohibited former President Yoon's travel at the request of the prosecution and the Corruption Investigation Office for High-Ranking Officials (CIO).
Subsequently, the prosecution’s emergency martial law special investigation headquarters (led by Park Se-hyun, Head of the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office) arrested former President Yoon on January 19 and arrested him on charges including being a leader of the insurrection on the 26th of the same month.
Request for Arrest Warrant and Future Prospects

However, former President Yoon was released on March 7 following a court decision to cancel his detention, which also lifted the existing travel ban. Accordingly, it is reported that the prosecution has imposed an additional travel ban on former President Yoon.
During the investigation process, the special prosecution team requested an arrest warrant for former President Yoon on the 24th on charges of obstructing the execution of special public duties.
The decision on whether to issue the arrest warrant for former President Yoon is expected to be made as early as the 25th. This travel ban imposed by the special prosecution is interpreted as a measure to prevent the possibility of the suspect fleeing during the investigation process.
