Ink running out…? The ‘Gradient Kitten Brothers’ gradually turning from gray to white (video)

"Gray ink was running low" Brightening kittens

A group of kitten siblings has been born, showcasing a 'gradient' that transitions from white to dark gray as if the ink has smudged.

On the 17th (local time), Taiwan's ETtoday highlighted the adorable kittens that have captured the hearts of netizens on TikTok since April.

The owner who shared their images commented, "It seems like the mother cat was a bit low on ink when giving birth," proudly presenting five kittens that look strikingly similar with only the color of their fur getting lighter.

The first kitten was born with dark gray fur, having the closest resemblance to the mother cat.

From the second kitten onward, the gray began to lighten gradually.

By the time we reached the fourth kitten, which barely had its tail and ears colored gray, there was no trace of gray at all on the youngest sibling.

The color and patterns of a cat's fur develop from top to bottom. This means that the head and tail are colored first, followed by the back and belly.

Thus, the fourth kitten could be born with at least the tip of its tail and ears in gray.

Videos of the kitten siblings have garnered 29.5 million views on TikTok alone, attracting the attention of online cat owners worldwide.

Some netizens reacted with comments such as "Their faces are the same, but the fur is different," "The white kitten might feel unfair," and "Is there a limit to the ink that can be used at once?"
