Gyeonggi Province to Provide 1 Million Won Marriage Support Fund to 2,650 Young Newlyweds

Gyeonggi Province has introduced a new support measure to alleviate the financial burden on young newlyweds at the beginning of their marriage.

On the 17th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will implement the 'Gyeonggi Young Marriage Support Program,' providing cash of 1 million won per couple to 2,650 young newlyweds who have completed their marriage registration since January 1 of this year.

The eligibility criteria for the support program include couples aged 19 to 39 who have completed their marriage registration since January 1 of this year, and both spouses must be registered as residents in Gyeonggi Province.

Moreover, only couples with a combined income of 80 million won or less for the previous year will be included in the support program.

The application period runs from August 1 to August 29, and applications can be made online through the Gyeonggi Civil Service 24 website.

Selection Criteria and Payment Plan for the 'Gyeonggi Young Marriage Support Program'

Gyeonggi Province will select eligible couples based on a comprehensive assessment of their residence in Gyeonggi Province over the last five years and their combined income level from the previous year.

Selected couples are expected to receive the marriage support fund in November.

Lee In-yong, head of the Youth Opportunity Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "As this program is designed and implemented based on the needs directly expressed by young people, we hope that many young newlyweds will participate. We will continue to listen to the voices of the youth to develop and implement various policies."
