Actress Song Hye-kyo has embarked on a project for the 80th anniversary of liberation. Professor Seo Kyung-duk from Sungshin Women's University announced on the 17th, "We donated 10,000 copies of a Korean history guidebook to Saipan and Tinian Islands in the Northern Mariana Islands together with Song Hye-kyo."

This guidebook was produced in both Korean and English and was donated to the Saipan World Resort, selected as a popular destination for Korean tourists. It is available at the resort's information desk and introduces various historical sites, including the forced conscription of Koreans, Korean memorials, Japanese military comfort women caves, and the atomic bomb drop site.

Professor Seo emphasized, "The preservation situation of Korea's historical sites overseas is not good," while adding, "The continuous interest from the public will be a significant force." If visiting in person is difficult, it is also possible to download the guidebook from the website. He explained, "You can download the file from 'Our History Stories Encountered Abroad' and use it."

The two have been promoting the awareness of Korean history since 2012, with Professor Seo planning and Song Hye-kyo sponsoring the donation of Korean language guidebooks to overseas historical sites. They will continue their collaboration to commemorate this year's 80th anniversary of liberation. The guidebook donation is the first project, with two more related projects planned for the future.

Meanwhile, for 14 years, Song Hye-kyo and Professor Seo have donated Korean language guidebooks, as well as Korean signboards, to 38 overseas independence movement historical sites in line with historical anniversaries.
