Pro-Japanese Cartoonist Reveals 'Anti-Korean' Experience at Japanese Ryokan
Yoon Seo-in, who described himself as a 'pro-Japanese far-right cartoonist,' has drawn attention by revealing that he faced discriminatory treatment as a Korean at a lodging facility in Japan.
On the 13th, Yoon Seo-in released a video on his YouTube channel stating, "I think I was treated in an 'anti-Korean' manner at a Japanese ryokan."

Yoon Seo-in reported that he had an unpleasant experience while staying at a ryokan in Ureshino, Kyushu, Japan.
On the first night, his wife injured the sole of her foot on a protruding 7-8mm thorn on the old wooden floor while coming out of the bathroom.
Yoon Seo-in took his wife to a nearby hospital, but because it was treatment abroad, insurance did not apply, and they had to pay a hefty medical fee of 25,000 yen (approximately 237,000 won).
The Ryokan Manager's Rude Response and Anti-Korean Remarks

The next day, during the checkout process, when Yoon Seo-in informed the ryokan manager about the incident and requested follow-up action, he received an unexpected response.
Upon hearing Yoon Seo-in's account, the manager bluntly ignored him, insisting that they calculate the room fee first. Furthermore, he continued with rude behavior, treating Yoon Seo-in like a scammer and using vulgar language.
Despite Yoon Seo-in presenting evidence, including surgery photos, the manager maintained a high-handed attitude, stating, "Japan is strict about things like insurance," and demanded, "Submit all evidence."
Eventually, as Yoon Seo-in continued to protest, the manager proposed a compromise, stating he would only cover half of the medical costs, but added, "No one in Japan makes claims in this manner."

What was particularly shocking was that the manager unabashedly made derogatory remarks about Korea, saying things like, "If you express complaints to that extent, you shouldn't come to Japan," and "I think we would be too scared to travel to Korea."
Such comments went beyond mere customer service issues and could be interpreted as displaying anti-Korean sentiment.
Afterward, Yoon Seo-in lodged a formal complaint through an acquaintance living in Japan, and it was reported that the manager explained that "rough words came out due to using a translation tool."
