National Unity is Key to Recovery of People’s Livelihoods
Former acting Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Moon Hyung-bae emphasized the importance of national unity on the 13th.
He stated, "President Kim Dae-jung overcame the IMF crisis through 'national unity'," highlighting the value of unity in times of national crisis.

At the 'Talk Concert for Constitutional Court Justices and Jeonnam Student Council, Democratic Citizen Talk Concert' held at the Jeonnam Suncheon Bay Ecological Culture Education Center, former acting Chief Justice Moon asserted, "There can be no recovery of people’s livelihoods without national unity." He pointed out the inseparable relationship between national unity and the recovery of people's livelihoods, noting that many leaders make the mistake of overlooking this.

The Role of Leaders and the Importance of Education
Former acting Chief Justice Moon also mentioned the qualities of a true leader.
"A leader must respect individual opinions to create a community, and must be patient in persuading and collecting diverse opinions. That is 'unity'," he explained.
He particularly emphasized the importance of education, stating, "The easiest and most certain way for a country to be loyal to its people is to provide educational opportunities for everyone."

He stressed that education is a crucial factor that can decisively change a person's life and is a fundamental right for forming a national community.
At the event, former acting Chief Justice Moon delivered a lecture on the theme "Thinking About Education from the Perspective of the Constitution," and participated in a 40-minute talk concert with the attending students.
He had retired after completing his six-year term on April 18, following the ruling of impeachment against former President Yoon Seok-yeol.
